Delightenments?

Is that even a word?

It's an inspired word.

All the words you'll read from me are.

Some might not be found in the dictionary, but I'll give you my delightened definition.

When first being reenchanted with the Goodness and Truth of God, the song of praise and revelation placed in my heart was, "Delight in You is my enlightenment."

Thus my mantra for seeking Truth was born. I wrote this on a sticky note and taped it to the front of my Bible. The Bible I hadn't picked up in a few years.

I now pick up this Bible every morning. I see this mantra every morning.

A month-ish goes by, when one morning while glancing at that note, the word "delightenments" pops into my head. I'm a sucker for play-on-words.

I felt the spark of awe I feel when God's inspiration is placed in my heart, and opened my notes app to document the word I felt described my writings.

"Delightenments." Noted at 9:30 AM Friday, May 19th.

The following night (technically just yesterday as I'm writing this) I share a piece I wrote with one of my best friends and confidants who suggests I consider starting a website.

"What should I call it?"

The obvious answer surfaced almost immediately. Delightenments.

Closing my eyes, I planned to sleep on it and see what inspiration followed into the morning.

Y'all. I cannot make the goodness and orchestration of God up.

My daily Psalms this morning was Psalm 36.

Check it:

v. 7 How priceless is Your unfailing love, O God!

People take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

v. 8 They feast on the abundance of Your house;

You give them drink from Your river of delights.

v. 9 For with You is the fountain of life;

in Your light we see light.

So here I sit, on the high of divine inspiration, creating Delightenments.

Drinking from this river of Delight, allowing it to be the hydration of my enlightenments.

As we all are, this site/blog/account is a work in progress. My prayer for this project is that it will be a space of reflection for those choosing to visit. Feedback is cherished!

In love,

Meg
